Dusty Roses original oil I believe my love of flowers came from Grandma's beautiful collection of tea cups. Each cup was so delicate, with flowers blooming in every color. This painting is a reminder of the times gone by, of her giving and forgiving love, and the tea cup with dusty roses, she saved for me.
Friendship Roses original oil At the back of our yard, there are wild climbing roses on a fence. They give bountiful red blossoms that are carefree, yet short-lived. The roses that are near our back door are watered, pruned and fertilized. They are stunning. Friendships develop in much the same way. If we keep them carefree and spontaneous, the relationship will be shallow - yet still fun and enjoyable for what they are. But for the people we bear our heart to, the ones that are caressed and unconditionally loved, those are the deepest, long-lived, most precious friends. This painting reflects the gift of that kind of friendship.
Lilacs and Roses 8 x 10 Original Oil I have always loved roses. All colors, shapes, and sizes. I have never, however, been able to keep a cut rose alive and beautiful for very long. It's much the same for my life. If I cut myself off from the life-giving strength of God, I tend to fail miserably in pleasing Him. If I however, stay connected to God, through prayer and studying the Bible, He keeps me empowered to do and be so much more than I ever thought I could. The rose helps to remind me that... "I can do all things through Christ, because He gives me strength" Philippians 4:13

Original Oil 16 x 20 My style of painting is impressionistically realism, which means I stylize a realistic approach to painting. My goal is perfection, and I strive to attain it, but it often leads to frustration. Same thing happens in life. I sometimes try to control things that I canât control, and find that the stress overwhelms. I simply need to cut loose, and images like âSpring Bouquetââ happen. The paint flowed fast and free, and turned out to be an expression of simple joy. This painting reminds me that life and the time we have to live it is precious. Itâs a gift, to be treasured and enjoyed!
